If you have any questions about studying at QUT Online, you can contact our Student Advisor Team on The content and learning outcomes of your course is the same as the on-campus equivalent, however, your course has been purpose built for online learners to acknowledge the different needs and challenges for students studying virtually.

Whether you study on-campus or online, the learning outcomes and qualification are the same and you will receive the same testamur. A testamur is your graduation certificate and it does not specify your mode of study. Regardless of whether you study online or on-campus you will still be getting the same qualification from an internationally ranked university.

Units run over a 10 week teaching period require an appropriate time commitment to ensure you can digest, understand and reflect on the course content. It is recommended during the teaching period you set aside approximately hours per week.

If you add or drop a unit prior to Census Date, it will not appear on your academic transcript. Check Key Dates for Census Dates. QUT Online provides most of your learning materials and digital textbooks for free. For some units, you may be required to buy specific software, if this is the case, this will be advised well in advance via your student email.

For most courses, everything you need is at your fingertips and there is no need for you to ever set foot on-campus. If you happen to be nearby a campus or would like to access university services or facilities, as an online student you are able to do so. Feel free to drop into the library, use the computer labs and any other services that may assist you with your studies.

If the error is with the ATO, your details must be updated at their end, likewise if the error is with QUT, your details must be updated at our end. If your compliance obligations aren't met, a sanction will be applied to your account and will remain in place until your compliance obligations are met.

If your compliance obligations are still unmet as at the census date of your next enrolled teaching period, your enrolment will be cancelled and you won't be able to continue studying in the current semester as a CSP student. If this happens to you and you wish to continue studying in the current teaching period, your only option is to do so as a domestic fee paying student.

If your enrolment has been cancelled because you missed the deadline to pay your fees, provide a Tax File Number TFN or submit a HECS-HELP form, you will no longer be able to continue studying in the current semester as a CSP student.

If you believe that QUT has made a procedural error, in line with our grievance resolution procedures , you can appeal your cancellation by emailing the Director, Student Business Services, via fees qut. If you did not make payment, provide your TFN or your HECS-HELP form by the census date, personal circumstances such as illness, work commitments or issues with your internet are not grounds for appeal under the Australian Government's HESA legislation.

If you don't pay all your Student Services and Amenities fees or submit a valid SA-HELP form by the census date, a sanction will be applied to your student account. The sanction will apply until your outstanding fees are paid in full. From 1 January , all CSP students commencing in a new course of study will need to provide a USI. If you haven't provided your USI on your 'Request for a Commonwealth Supported Place and HECS-HELP Loan' form by the census date, you will not be eligible to access a HELP loan, or continue studying in the current semester as a CSP student.

If you wish to continue studying in the current teaching period, we can only reinstate you in to your units at the domestic tuition full fee rate, which is significantly higher than the CSP rate. If you haven't provided your USI on your FEE-HELP form, or paid your tuition fees by the census date, you need to pay your outstanding fees in full immediately or your enrolment will be cancelled.
